First aid for making art

Together with design office Mannschaft, we developed this series of educational workbooks for the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. With the concept and title ‘First aid for …’ there was one obvious suitable language: the pictographic language which is well known from instructional design.

Each edition of the workbook has different chapters which are denoted by a pictographic illustration, a derivative of the cover. The main returning topics - like e.g. ‘Glossary’ - were transformed and adapted in an idiom related to the main theme of the edition.
